Please read Chapter 9: Innovation and Persuasion in black book. Also check out the Dada manifesto / feel free to print out a copy for your notes at http://www.sas.upenn.edu/~jenglish/English104/tzara.html and also the Futurist manifesto at http://www.cscs.umich.edu/~crshalizi/T4PM/futurist-manifesto.html. Manifestos are interesting documents and tell a ton about the movement with simple style and prose.
